This album certainly aims to capture Prince's complete recordings, both on vinyl and CD. However, Fun With Vinyl is particular about sound quality. Played on a Technics SL-1200MK2 record player, Yamaha The audio was recorded onto DAT tape on a Sony PCM-R300 via the RX-Z1's audio/video receiver. Then, using a Turtle Beach Catalina sound card and Cool Edit Pro software, the audio was imported to a PC, where it was remastered (including removing clicks) and converted to digital WAV files. The sound quality is top-notch. Another groundbreaking addition is the inclusion of edited versions not previously included in the Anthology series, as well as B-sides that were omitted because Prince was not involved. While Prince was not involved, the album also includes works by artists with connections to Prince, both before and after him.
This Volume 9 is divided into Parts 1 and 2. Part 2 also focuses on Alexander O'Neal, featuring remixes of exquisite tracks produced by his close friends Jam & Lewis. They often handle remixes, and their work is truly outstanding. The beautifully melody-filled, bouncy remix of the promo version of "What Is This Thing Called Love" by Jam & Lewis is sure to have any DJ drooling.
