This uncut, uncut recording features the April 15th Tokyo International Forum performance, the final day of their 2009 Japan tour. Deep Purple had been delivering stunning performances across the country for a week since their April 8th performance, but the final show in Tokyo had a surprise in store. Towards the end of the set, as Don Airey's keyboard solo led into the customary transition to "Perfect Strangers," the stage went dark for the intro, and when the spotlights came back on, there was none other than Jon Lord standing at the keyboard! The band members, performing amidst thunderous cheers, seemed deeply moved. The surprises don't end there, with Yngwie Malmsteen joining the band for an unprecedented collaboration on "Smoke On The Water." Jon Lord, who had previously retreated to the sidelines, also returns for this track, making for a truly spectacular performance. The sound quality is also impeccable, with the powerful original audience master recorded from the front row center seats on the first floor of the venue and digitally remastered using the latest professional equipment to create a perfectly balanced, high-quality sound. The sound quality, with the positioning of each instrument clearly visible, is a special sound that sets it apart from other recordings of the same performance!
