This is a soundboard recording of Herbie Hancock's 1999 live performance at a famous French jazz festival. The setlist, consisting mostly of songs from his album "Gershwin World," released the previous year, is extremely rare. This album was produced to commemorate the 100th anniversary of George Gershwin's birth, and most of the songs on it are Gershwin compositions. Other songs also feature Gershwin-related material. Therefore, this live performance isn't packed with Hancock's hits; instead, most of the songs are Gershwin compositions. While those hoping for Hancock songs may be disappointed, this is a rare opportunity to enjoy the Grammy-winning "Gershwin World" live, and is definitely worth a listen.
