MASTODON, the unrivaled metal monster band whose virtuosic technique never ceases to amaze listeners, recently toured Japan! This recording features the complete set from their Summer Sonic performance on August 8th in Tokyo and August 9th in Osaka, where they performed their most controversial album of 2009, "Crack the Sky." While they performed the entire album during their headlining tour, this time they've opted for a festival-ready setlist, featuring a truly amazing selection of the best tracks from their past work. They also dramatically performed the 10-minute epic "Czar, The (I) Usurper, (II) Escape, (III) Martyr, (IV) Spiral" from the new album, a performance I never expected to see played at a festival.
