MIKE OLD FIELD / ULTIMATE VIDEOGRAPHY (2DVDR)

These two DVDs include footage and promotional videos that have been released on VHS and LD in the past but have remained difficult to obtain, as well as unreleased live performances!
The clips are arranged roughly chronologically, beginning with folky trad in the vein of Saliangie in the early '70s, and moving on to "Tubular Bells," and spanning guitar tunes, ambient works, spacey movie soundtracks, and danceable mixes, spanning a total of 3 hours and 40 minutes and tracing his 30-year career.
The highlight, of course, is the 25-minute studio live recording of "Tubular Bells," which aired on the BBC in 1976.
The band is backed by over a dozen support musicians, including early Canterbury scene figures Fred Frith, Steve Hillage (guitar), John Greaves (bass), Tim Hodgkinson, and Mike Rutledge (keyboards), as well as Mick Taylor (guitar), who had previously left the Stones. This makes it truly Canterbury Trees Bells!
