Celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Rolling Stones' formation in 1962, this compilation of their 1960s BBC radio sessions is here! This two-disc set features live studio and concert recordings from the UK's BBC radio broadcasts, recorded in roughly chronological order from their debut BBC appearance in September 1963 through 1965. Unlike previous releases, this release features the highest sound quality ever, thanks to newly remastered recordings from the original masters! The Stones' roots in rhythm & blues and rock 'n' roll include many previously unreleased tracks, documenting the band's growth from its early '60s cover-focus to its final album, "Satisfaction." This must-listen, classic collector's item is a must-listen for Stones fans, and the definitive 2012 remastering makes it a highly recommended title! [Collector's Point] While most of the famous '60s BBC recordings, such as those by The Beatles, The Kinks, and The Who, have been officially released, The Stones have yet to be officially released, resulting in numerous bootlegs. However, many of these have been incomplete or suffer from inconsistent sound quality, and many budget releases have been based on the same source material with little to no updates. This compilation utilizes the latest 2012 remastering, based as much as possible on the original masters, and is primarily recorded in mono, faithful to the original sound. The only recording, "Rhythm in Blues," from May 1964, is of course the original stereo version, but all other radio broadcasts from the period are primarily mono. However, most titles based on rebroadcasts of 1980s BBC sound sources were pseudo-stereo, so this work, which was recorded entirely in pure mono with clear, flat sound separation, provides the most natural sound and is currently recorded at the best quality. Some of the sound sources that were not rebroadcast are based on analog records, but these have also been updated with new mastering, and although there are differences in the original quality, overall it is a newly restored version that has been edited and adjusted in detail based on the best source with an emphasis on sound quality.
