The Stones' 1981 Hampton concert, much talked about among Stones collectors, is now available in a newly digitally remastered version of both video and audio! The Hampton concert, which has been a hot topic as a streaming audio source, is now available in a newly remastered, revamped version. While previously broadcast live on TV, this DVD offers three audio sources: the newly remastered stereo audio, the original broadcast audio, and 5.1 surround audio, allowing you to compare the different sound mixes. The full two-and-a-half-hour feature film is also included, along with extra footage. This comprehensive featurette includes everything from opening act George Thoroughgood and backstage documentaries to radio announcements. The main feature, edited without the video dropouts often found in overseas releases, is longer than the newly remastered audio, making it the definitive complete version. Though the editing has shortened the pre- and post-concert sequences and inter-song segments, the sound quality is undeniably superb. The Stones' 1981 US tour was also made into a film, but this Hampton performance, which has been a familiar sight on television and radio since then, is also famous for the scene in which Keith smashes a fan who comes onstage with his guitar during the encore "SATISFACTION."
